Fairhaven Ministries Canada and Fairhaven Retreat Centre Announce Leadership Transition: Tony Schnare Transitions from Executive Director to Director of Counseling and Community Partnerships


Vernon, British Columbia — February 2, 2025 — Fairhaven Ministries Canada is pleased to announce that Tony Schnare, who has served as Executive Director since June 2015, will be transitioning into the newly created role of Director of Counseling and Community Partnerships.

 
In this new role, The Director of Counseling and Community Partnerships is the key leader responsible for guiding Fairhaven Retreat Centre’s mission to provide holistic, Christ-centered counseling and consultation services. This position supports clergy, ministry leaders, and Christian organizations by addressing their unique challenges while fostering spiritual, emotional, and mental wellness. The Director will develop strategies to enhance client engagement, cultivate partnerships, and ensure the delivery of high-quality counseling programs. By aligning with Fairhaven’s core mission to promote rest, renewal, and refocus, this role serves as a vital resource for advancing the health and vitality of individuals and communities.

During Tony’s time as Executive Director, Fairhaven Retreat Center achieved significant milestones, including:

• During his tenure, he established and strengthened partnerships with various organizations and groups, significantly expanding outreach opportunities for Fairhaven Ministries Canada and Fairhaven Retreat Centre, as well as increasing denominational and organizational partnerships.
• Spearheaded the creation and implementation of an online counseling platform in response to the challenges posed by COVID-19. This initiative not only ensured uninterrupted access to support services but also significantly expanded clientele, increasing Fairhaven’s reach and impact within the community and beyond.
• Successfully led Fairhaven Retreat Centre in celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2023 with a milestone weekend event. The celebration included a founders' recognition ceremony attended by donors, volunteers, and community members, showcasing the enduring legacy and impact of Fairhaven Ministries Canada.
