Fairhaven is a place of rest, reflection, and renewal. We ask all guests to help us care for this shared space by being mindful of others, respectful of the land, and attentive to the quiet environment that makes this place what it is.
As a retreat centre, we encourage all guests to respect the privacy of others during their stay. Please keep noise levels to a minimum, especially in shared outdoor areas, trails, and around accommodations, so that everyone can enjoy a peaceful experience.
Fire Prevention and Safety
Due to the fragile forest ecosystem surrounding Fairhaven, open fires are not permitted anywhere on the property. Each cottage is equipped with a fire extinguisher located in the coat closet for safety purposes. There is a gas fire pit provided for guests of Sunset Cottage and a communal gas fire pit available for guest use on the Lodge patio.
Pets and Smoking
To ensure the health, safety, and comfort of all guests, Fairhaven is a no-pets, no-smoking, and no-vaping property.
Trails and Outdoor Spaces
Fairhaven offers a network of maintained trails throughout the property. Trail maps are available at the Lodge for your convenience. Guests are welcome to explore these spaces at their own pace while remaining mindful of changing terrain and weather conditions.
Wildlife Safety
We share this land with local wildlife. When using the trails, we encourage guests to make gentle noise as they walk to help alert animals to your presence. Bear spray and wildlife horns are available at the Lodge for your safety and peace of mind.
Code of Conduct
Fairhaven Retreat Centre is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all guests, staff, and visitors. We take care of our guests and our property seriously and strive to maintain safe facilities, clear procedures, and well-maintained outdoor spaces.
At the same time, Fairhaven is located on 167 acres of natural forest terrain. Guests are responsible for exercising reasonable care for their own safety while on the property, including awareness of uneven ground, changing weather conditions, wildlife, and natural features.
In the event of an emergency, guests are asked to follow the instruction of staff immediately.
Any hazards, injuries, or safety concerns should be reported to Fairhaven staff as soon as possible so they can be addressed promptly.
We encourage all guests to familiarize themselves with property guidelines, including fire safety, trail use, and wildlife awareness, to help ensure a safe and restful experience for everyone.
